This is the third National Report by the Republic of Indonesia. As reported in previous National Report and Review Meeting, the decision of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to ratify “the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management”, as ratified by the President Regulation No. 84/2010 on 28 December 2010, clearly demonstrates Indonesia’s intention to fulfill its obligation with regard to one of the aspect of the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, namely the nuclear safety aspect. This ratification is also in line with Indonesia’s policy that the primary responsibility of nuclear safety is in the hands of each state
