In 2020, the WHO projects that tobacco-related ilinesses will become the largest single health problem, causing an estimated 8.4 million deaths globally per year. It is estimated that half of these deaths will occur in Asia given rapidly increasing tobacco use. Deaths in Asia will increase nearly four-fold from 1.1 million in 1990 to 4,2 million in 2020.
