NRC Safety Research in Support of Regulation-FY 1993

This report, the ninth in a series of annual reports, was prepared in reponse to congressional inquiries concerning how nuclear regulatory research in used. It summarizes the accomplishments of the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research during FY 1993. A special emphasis on accomplishments in nuclear power plant aging research reflects recognition that a number of plants are entering the final portion of their original 40-year operating licenses and that, in addition to current aging effects, a focus on safety considerations for license renewal becomes timely.
