Radiation Protection Standards for Radioluminous Timepieces
The recommendations of a joint group of experts set up by the IAEA and the European Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The draft recommendations were circulated to all member state of both organizations, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) and were finally aproved in 1966. The Council of the OECD recommended that the measures taken by its member states to provide adequate protection against the hazards of ionizing radiations for users of radioluminous timepieces and for the whole population be based on “radiation protection standards for Radioluminous Timepieces.
