Nuclear Safety Review for 1985
The Nuclear Safety Review for 1985 describes international activities relevant to nuclear safety and radiation protection, discusses the current status of these disciplines including significant developments and events and concludes with an outlook on new trends. The material characterizes developments for the year of 1985 and was drafted before the accident at the chernobyl 4 nuclear power plant in the USSR. It is expected that this events will have a major impact on the future development of nuclar safety and radiation protection worldwide. Appropriate treatment of the lessons to be learned is planned for the nuclear Safety Review for 1986 – after trorough evaluation of the cause, circumstances and consequences of the accident.
