PARTICIPATION OF SSDL JAKARTA IN THE 2018 IAEA/WHO TLD POSTAL DOSE QUALITY AUDIT FOR A COBALT-60 BEAMS | Prosiding SKN 2019
This paper deals with a Co-60 TLD postal dose quality audit organized by IAEA/WHO year 2018. Three LiF dosemeters contained in plastic capsules were sent to the National Radiation Metrology Laboratory (SSDL Jakarta) as the participating SSDLs to be irradiated under reference conditions with a specified absorbed dose to water. Then, the irradiated dosemeters were sent back to the IAEA to be evaluated. During irradiation the capsules were placed at 5 cm depth inside a water phantom using a special holder supplied by the IAEA. The personel of the laboratory irradiated the capsules so as to deliver a dose of 2.00 Gy, using the laboratory protocol. After irradiation the staff of the laboratory filled in data sheets giving the values of relevant factors employed such as the ambient condition, ion recombination and polarity correction factors. The Co-60 unit used in this dose audit was a Cirus CIS BIO # 4099 unit owned by SSDL Jakarta. Measurements of the absorbed dose to water were carried out in a 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm water phantom at 5 cm depth with a 10 cm x 10 cm field size at the surface by using a 0.6 cc ionization chamber type of TW 30013 serial number 3637 connected with a PTW Webline electrometer type of T 10022 serial number 268 with an absorbed dose to water calibration factor for Co-60 traceable to the BIPM through the IAEA Dosimetry Laboratory. The Results of the SSDL Jakarta participation in the IAEA/WHO postal dose audit services during the period between 2011–2018 were also described. In summary there was a good acceptance limit of 0.9 % between the dose stated by the SSDL Jakarta and measured by the IAEA in the years of 2018.
